Known for providing trusted veterinary care to Yorktown and the surrounding communities since 1989, Magruder Tabb Animal Clinic does it all. From preventive checkups to advanced surgery, we’re here to keep pets healthy and families supported with care that combines experience, compassion, and modern medicine.
For more than three decades, Magruder Tabb Animal Clinic has been a trusted part of life in Yorktown, Hampton, and Poquoson. Founded in 1989 by Dr. Wallace—who still rolls up his sleeves every day—you’ll find a team that’s as dedicated to your pet’s health as they are to knowing you by name. Many of our staff have been with us for decades too, which means when you walk through our doors, you’re greeted by familiar faces who truly know and love your pets.
We’re proud to offer a full spectrum of services, from preventive wellness exams and dentistry to orthopedic and urgent care, boarding, grooming, and more. Whether your pet needs a routine checkup or specialized treatment, you can count on us to provide thoughtful, personalized care in every situation.
Our wellness exams include thorough nose-to-tail evaluations, tailored vaccination plans, parasite prevention, and nutrition guidance. We also provide vaccine titers and domestic health certificates.
Unexpected illness or injury doesn’t have to wait. We offer urgent care during regular business hours (Saturdays are walk-in only) with access to on-site diagnostics and digital radiology to provide answers quickly.
From routine dental cleanings and extractions to soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, our team—led by Dr. Wallace’s decades of surgical experience—delivers skilled, compassionate care in every case.
Dr. Joe Wallace grew up in Tabb, VA and knew he wanted to return to live and work in “the county”. He graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, Va. He opened Magruder Tabb Animal Clinic in 1989. Dr. Joe is married for 25 years and has 3 children, two dogs, two birds, two hedgehogs, one hamster and a snake.
Dr. Jenn Fedor, DVM, joined Magruder-Tabb Animal Clinic as an Associate Veterinarian in June 2025. Originally from Chicago, Dr. Fedor spent the past eight years in Missouri, where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Missouri as part of the Class of 2023. She brings experience from both general practice and emergency medicine, giving her a well-rounded perspective on patient care.
Dr. Fedor is passionate about collaborating with clients, staff, and colleagues to provide thoughtful, compassionate care for every pet—because she truly believes animals are part of the family. She values clear communication and teamwork to ensure the best possible outcomes for her patients.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Fedor enjoys baking, crafting, horseback riding, and reading (or listening to) audiobooks. At home, she shares her life with her teenage daughter Lily, a dog named Sunny, and three cats—and credits Lily with keeping her “cool” and up to date.
When Dr. Lowe isn’t in surgery, she likes to spend time with friends or her family in Pennsylvania. She loves to hike with her dogs Marley and Addie. She just welcomed a new member of the pack, Sherlock.
Sara joined Magruder Tabb Animal Clinic in July 2024 as the Practice Manager, where she oversees hospital operations and social media. Growing up on her grandfather’s farm in Short Pump, VA, Sara developed a love for animals, having been surrounded by cats and dogs her entire life. With 13 years of experience in the veterinary field, Sara enjoys interacting with clients and their pets and is excited to be part of a profession that is constantly evolving.
Sara shares her home with three beloved dogs: Chloe, a 4-year-old Cane Corso; Sean, a 1.5-year-old Rottweiler-Lab mix; and Duke, a 12-year-old Yorkie. Outside of work, she loves visiting the local dog park to interact with friends, both two- and four-legged. When not at the park, Sara enjoys traveling with her husband, wine tastings with friends, crocheting gifts and donations, binge-watching her favorite shows, and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys.
